Specimen #22

I've been having horrible writer's block. I'm more concerned about my portfolio and the grad school applications. I have a few paragraphs of the story and the whole idea planned, but I'm just not writing it.... I feel that it will finally be done in February when I've sent off the last application and portfolio and I'll be done with the FAFSA and all that. I studied writing, but I'm more concerned about other things now, so this story will have to wait. And I don't like the protagonist's name, I keep changing it instead of writing the story...excuses, excuses....

Here's the first part though.....

The Mysterious Ones

Mr. Thomas Brown was a collector. He collected many things- jewelry, coins, rocks and shells, old fingernails of dead aristocrats, etc… He was a bit of an oddball character, always alone. Always observing with his monocle things no one else would notice - a speck of dust in the wind.

Clumsy Me

So I had an accident and almost broke my hand and scraped up two of my knees really badly. Was limping for a while. At lease I'm alive. :/

Just one thing after another with me....

Nothing new

I have nothing really to say today. I didn't really like the last drawing I posted, so here's a better one, a little sad, a little lonely perhaps...

Oh, also, I put sticker sheets in my etsy shop. They're cheaper than the original drawings, and you get 6. I'll put up custom ones soon, so you can pick and choose which 6 you want.

Sickness

I've been sick lately, so the story is yet again pushed back. I should stop mentioning it to not bring your hopes up... :) It'll be done I promise! I'll probably;y post bit by bit (Part 1, Part 2, etc...) because it's a bit long. I have added more drawing to it though.... Here's another sample... Not my favorite, The shell is a bit off. But I think the head it cute.

Getting there...

So the story is almost done... I kept being unsatisfied with the story and thought it was too cliche or that I've read it before, but now it's going somewhere, and I'll have it done by the end of the week.

The book should be done soon as well. I have the drawings laid out, so once the story is done and done, I'll order the book. I'm excited! I've never done anything like this before. kinda proud of myself, must say... :D

Hello world...

I didn't realize people were commenting on my blog! Thank you for the lovely comments! :D

I haven't had internet access at home for a couple of days, there's something wrong with my router, so I'm doing this all at work. Probably shouldn't, but, whatever....

Two drawings

So, I ended up creating 2 portfolios because I had too much stuff. One is general drawings, and the other is specifically to the Mysterious Ones project. The book and story are coming along. By next paycheck, I'll have the books ready, and I'll put them up on etsy. I guess, if you don't have a video, then, no one cares about your kickstarter project. :(
I want to do this regardless, plus, it will look great for grad school! :)

Another specimen...

And another... because why not...

More creatures and portfolio

I revamped my online portfolio.

I asked one of my former college professors at Carnegie Mellon if she would write me a recommendation for graduate school. She was my 'Writing for Multimedia' professor, where I learned story boarding and flash as an alternate method of writing and story telling, which is basically what I want to go to grad school for. She said she would "love" to write me a recommendation and that she "loved the way [I] approached [my] work as well as [my] results" (yay!!). This of course made my month. :) But, she wants to look at more of my work, not just the Flash animations I made in her class. I decided, instead of clogging her inbox with .jpg after .jpg, I decided to update and improve my online portfolio to show her more of my artwork.

For now, here's another specimen:

Enjoy!

Another push for my Kickstarter Project and Etsy store.....

As the weeks go by, I'll be posting some stuff from my Grad School portfolio. For now, more fetal creatures found by Dr. Chesterfield.

I don't have the list of number specimens and titles. This post will be without them. but I will post more often.

Also, to be pushy ( :b ) I started a Kickstarter project and i put some original drawings in my Etsy store. Please take a look!

Thanks for reading!!

Been Busy

I've been busy lately. I'm applying to grad school. my greatest fear is not getting into any of the 10 schools I'm applying to, and losing all of that money that I will inevitable spend on application fees (they are on average $80 an application, so that's about $800 just to send them my name and address), not including portfolios and all that. But, hey, it's worth a try. Please wish me luck! I;m strating to big projects, the etsy store is mainly to pay for these application fees.

I've started a KickStarter project. I can't really make a video. I would like to just be able to show a bunch of drawings, but they don't let you, so I don't know if this will get funded. but it's worth a try.:

The Mysterious Ones

And I'm selling stuff on Etsy. More drawings/prints to come! If the book gets funded, I'll be selling that too!:

Now for something new....
Oh the details.......
