I recently got back home for winter break, and a LONG break it is! I'm in the process of drawing another creature. Will post him shortly. Yes, him....

Other blog
I created another blog for my animation stuff. I have one post so far. I think I'll post more traditional (2D) animation stuff first, because the files in Maya are a little too big, so I have to figure all of that out (how to make them smaller). I'm only starting after all! I won't abandon this blog, especially over my winter break, but for mow, I'm too busy animating!
Here's the other blog (I also have to make it look better, I'm quite unhappy with the layout): http://caerphillyanimated.blogspot.com/

No time...
Wow, so I'm in school now. Loving every minute (except now I'm doing laundry and had to do some grocery shopping, ugh. :/) But, I'm really happy here!! Savannah is beautiful! BUT, I don't have time for a blog anymore. I haven't drawn a single creature in, what, now, three weeks?! Just. no. time. I've animated a bouncing ball using traditional animation, a tennis ball and a bowling ball; an in the process of a flag waving (due Monday); have modeled in Maya an oboe, bird, starfish, sea urchin, and many other, and am in the process of creating a 3D replica of Marie Antoinette's bedroom; have animated in 3D a bouncing ball, pendulum, and also due Monday is a short animation of an Emo Ball (an emotional ball exercise where I have to show a ball with emotion doing an action). I love school! I really do! I might start an animation blog to just post my school projects. But for now, I look pictures of my creatures before I moved. I had them framed and on the walls. I only had less than half of them in frames, so these aren't all of them. My parents took them while I'm in school. Not the best photos, but I was in a hurry to pack. :(
I haven't stopped drawing creatures, I'm just taking a break. I do have a month and a half winter breatk, so I think I'll be drawing more then. For now, I'm off to animate my flag!! :D

Specimen # 14b (fungal)
So, I reorganized the specimens a bit. Some of the #13 (floral) specimens were more mushroom like, so I changed their specimen # to 14 (fungal). I have a feeling that these will change more and more as I draw more and more, and every number will eventually have a subcategory letter and name after it. It's almost as fun grouping these creatures as it is to draw them!

Some renumbering
So I am redoing the specimen #s, and will post something in a day or two. I'm renumbering because, after drawing so may of these creatures the categories need to expand/be eliminated/new ones created etc... This is due to one in particular that I recently drew, that sparked this need for me. It fit in one category, but would make sense in its own, and then I realized others could fit into this one, and that would change everything!! More in my next post.

Specimen #5
I like the creature I posted last time more. I actually sketched this guy out years ago (wow, I can say that now) and I just didn't like him. I decided it was time to finish him over my staycation so I did! :)

Specimen #47
I didn't realize how long it's been since I haven't posted. Truth is, I'm just super busy, and haven't gone on blogger in a long time. Haven't stopped drawing, but stopped going on blogger for about a month. Will start again, and look at all of your blogs as well, and see what I've been missing out on! ;)
I'm applying to loans and scholarships, selling lots and lots of my stuff for school (and also buying a lot of stuff I need for school :) ), doing stuff for my etsy shops, and still working. I did gave my notice at work last week, right before I went on a one week staycation where I did nothing, finally, but draw, and am ready to blog again. Really, I must say, giving notice at work is the best feeling in the work. Of course getting that acceptance letter was the nest day in my life, but I think a large part of it being so great is that you know you can move on and never go back to your horrible job... (never say never, right...) I also decided this past week during my staycation, that I am going to make my own clothes. I only have work cloths (fancy office clothes not suitable for everyday casual wear) and house clothes (all of my old work clothes that are too worn too wear to work anymore ), so I need something for school. As I was looking around for stuff that I like, everything is ugly or way too expensive!! I've sewn before, but never thought about making clothes. Then, I found really cheap dress patterns (some vintage :o ) and a cheap used sewing machine. I'm looking at clearance fabrics, which are much higher quality and cost less than any good store bought clothes. So, yeah, will be doing that now on top of the billion other things I am currently doing! Might start another blog about my handmade Mad Men imitation dresses! :)
Anyway, enough rambling. Now for the reason you visit my blog in the first place. Here's Specimen #47.

New Etsy Store & Drawings
I opened a new Etsy store. Take a look if you would like. http://www.etsy.com/shop/LostAccoutrement
If Mr. Thomas Chesterfield had a wife, what would she do if he was gone?? Well, the shop is full of hair accessories that I made, but as part of the story, I think she is occupied as an engineer working on machinery for his voyages. With the left over parts, she makes these accessories for fun. As I had fun making them!
I should really be drawing specimens, but...below are some drawings I included in my scholarship appeal. Wish me luck!! :D

Specimen #20
Sorry for not posting!! I'm applying to various grants and financial aid now, and that takes up more time than actually applying to schools!
Here's specimen #20. More to come!!

More anatomy drawings.
Here are the remaining anatomy drawings from my class. I will miss that class, but luckily, I can take that class again, if I still work at the hospital.
More specimens coming soon!
Heart. Soft pencil on paper. Keep in mind,I was drawing from an actual human organs, preserved in formaldehyde. These organs really didn't have any shape or color, so I did what I could. I preferred drawing bones, but it was good practice doing something else.
Brain. Pencil on paper, unfinished. My second to last, and my least favorite. Decided to go back to a bone after drawing this.
Underside of half of a human skull. Pencil on paper, unfinished. My last drawing in the class..This is definitely one of my favorites! I was surprised how well this turned out. I like the unfinished fell. I know it looks a little off, but I wasn't looking at it straight on, but at a weird angle. I took some photos, so I'll try to draw this again at different angles.
If you're an artist, I definitely recommend taking an anatomy art class. It's different from life drawing because it's not as much a about gesture, it's more about detail. The similarities are the study of proportion. And you learn a lot about life drawing from the anatomy. Definitely a helpful class!

Specimen #52
Hi there! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Many things have been going on in my life. Lots of wedding planning, mostly, actually. :) Steampunk wedding anyone?
I haven't received any responses from those three schools yet, but I do have a job interview this Saturday, in the arts!!! :) Getting that interview is the hardest part, right? Finally might get out of Hospital administration that I so unfortunately was forced into.
